What if I hate to golf?

Kiss My Shaz asked:
Am I the only one that hates golfing? My co-workers want to have a “team building” event (nice to get out of the office, but all lessons learned are forgotten once you go back in, in my opinion) with a golf outing, and I think golfing blows. Only because I am really bad at it.

And they won’t leave me alone! They keep talking about “the social” aspect of it which is a bunch of crap because once you get out there, everyone takes their scores seriously and you are forever branded as the crappy golfer who let the whole nation down.
What are your thoughts on either golf or team building events?
It’s not free, I have to pay $30.
Oh well, they’re about to find out how bad I really am at the game!

Golf might be nice if it’s free! I can’t see any other way anyone could convince me to play it otherwise whether it’s a team building exercise or not. Still, playing golf has to be better than watching golf.
golf is stupid. where’s the team building in pitting people against each other?
When we team build…we get to play the “trust” game, where u fall and somebody catches you….that’s just SCARY and dangerous.
Golfers are in a league of there own and they do take it serious, I wouldn’t want to go. Team building events in my opinion are silly. I see who I want after work, and build my own team.
well i like mini golf thats fun, But plain golf is not as fun.
there are some good team building activities, which can be really fun, but in this case it seems like everyone is going to take it seriously, so that is going to suck out the fun. Team building should be about everyone having fun and getting along. But because of them taking it seriously it could be team destroying rather then team building
Well Good Luck with that
not a fan of golf I do not see why they like it team building event well if I get pay for it yes but general no
bowl
I think the best thing to do is to be sick that day. I will call them if you want sweetie. I’m not much for team building events either. I always get a “headache”. ?
