Peter L asked:

Does anyone know of a book on the short game in golf…but not just technique…but strategy…like when to use a wedge to chip or a 7 iron…when to hit a flop shot or bump and run. The few ive seen at the book store is more lessons oriented as opposed to when to use a certain shot…i really appreciate the tips.

I believe there was a book on the short game written by Dave Pelz who was the putting and short game guru a couple of years back. You might look into that. If you have no luck contact Golf Magazine which carried all of Pelz’ work.

I have Pelz’ short game bible, and hist putting bible. Definitely worth the money and practice time.

Stan Utley’s books are the best. He made his living on putting, chipping and pitching. His books are “The Art of Putting” and “The Art of the Short Game”.

I read them both and have improved greatly.

Yes, ‘Dave Pelz short game bible’ would be a great book to buy. Failing that - Tiger Woods “How I play Golf” is another great one to look at.
